Price began his political experience as a member of the Inglewood City Council, serving from 1993 to 1997 and later from 2001 to 2006. In 2006, he became an Assemblymember of the California State Assembly until 2009, when he joined the California State Senate.
Biography
Price earned his Bachelors degree in political science from Stanford University in 1972 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Santa Clara in 1976.
He is the executive producer of Political Empowerment: The Black Vote & Implications for the Future and the deputy of the Los Angeles City Council.
He has acted as a consultant to the Small Business Development Center, and served as a member on both the Los Angeles County Commission on Insurance and South Bay Governance Council, Metropolitan Transit Authority.

Legislative scorecard
Capitol Weekly, California's major weekly periodical covering the state legislature, publishes an annual legislative scorecard to pin down the political or ideological leanings of every member of the legislature based on how they voted on an assortment of bills in the most recent legislative session. The 2009 scores were based on votes on 19 bills, but did not include how legislators voted on the Proposition 1A (2009). On the scorecard, "100" is a perfect liberal score and "0" is a perfect conservative score. [1],[2]

De Mille Price won re-election to the 26th District seat in 2010. He had no primary opposition. He defeated Republican Nachum Shifren, Libertarian Bob Weber, and Peace and Freedom Party's Cindy Varela Henderson in the November 2 general election.[4]

Price did not run for California Senate in 2006. He was a member of the California Assembly who ran in a special election for the position of California State Senate, District 26 in 2009. His seat is up for re-election in 2010.
